About the Course:
The Albin Counter-Gambit appears on the board after 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e5 followed by 3. dxe5 d4. It is a pretty unusual, yet tricky opening. Black sacrifices the pawn in exchange for very good development and an advanced d4-pawn. There is some theory you need to know if you are planning to play Albin Counter-Gambit for either side.
It can be a great surprise weapon, especially in a must-win situation. In this course IM Ratkovic does a great job preparing you for anything white can throw at you in the subtleties of Albin Counter-Gambit. And white better be prepared as well, because if they’re not – the game will be quick!
What you will learn:
- The most common setups and pawn formations for Black
- What to play against a very popular Fianchetto Variation?
- What to play if white deviates from the theory? [strategies and plans to keep in mind]
- The ‘normal’ line and what it’s about?
- Tackling unusual and offbeat lines and variations
- How top GMs attack with the Albin Counter-Gambit?
